Carol Meade, the founder’s mother, has been operating her own little boutique furniture shop in South Jersey since 1993. Originally on Haddonfield Road, the scaled down Riverton store is very charming and customers love to come in and see what creative value that Carol is able to offer. The friendliness and charm of this quaint, historic town will be missed indeed as this Main Street location truly is the “Main Street” of yesteryear. She will also miss the frolicking children that love to come to visit after school because Room Doctor has always put the FUN in Furniture.
But most of all she will miss the hundreds and even thousands of customers that have been so kind to her over the years. Many of whom she has personally delivered and set up their furniture. You just can’t get that kind of personal service these days. And then there are the neighbors, the post man, UPS and FedEx deliverers, the trucking companies, and all of her wonderful and patient vendors and everyone else that has helped her over the years. It’s not easy for a senior citizen woman to run a furniture store all alone, which is a remarkable testament to her spirit, one of tenacity and innovation, and a compassion for her customers. But it would not be possible without the help of all of these people and for this a sincere THANK YOU goes out. A new chapter is beginning as the old one comes to a close but the memories will last forever!
Her incredible faith in my dream and stamina to see it through has been an inspiration to me and is a shining example of the selflessness of Motherhood – the most noble of all occupations. For the future belongs to our children. And it is up to ALL of us to be that example to ensure that our children are up to the task. THANK YOU MOM – I LOVE YOU!
